Current Event: Group 4 Week 9

 Week 9 Current Event Topic

As a group select a type of academic software ( Desktop publishing, Graphics, Reference, Tutorials and Drill-and-practice, Educational Games, Simmulations, Authoring Systems, Special Needs, Integrated Learning Systems) from the textbook 8.1.  Discuss and narrow your choice down to one tool from that category that you think you may use or have used to support student learning.

This week our group is focusing on Educational Games.

Our group found a website called Sheppard Software.  This website has hundreds of educational games and activities for people of all ages.  It also covers a wide range of topics spanning from animals to English and math.  For each topic there are different games and levels of difficulty that you can play.  The games can help with things like colors, grammar, SAT prep, geography, health, math, and many more.

There is a section when you scroll down the page that shows recommended games for the different grade levels or age groups so it makes it very easy for you to find the games that will be most beneficial to your student or yourself.

If you are looking for a website that is useful, engaging, fun, and versatile, then this is the website for you!

The best part is this website is absolutely free! So click on the link and take a look around!

The website is located at http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/
